Aamir Farooque Urdu: عامر فاروق (born 5 November 1968) is a former Pakistani born English cricketer. Farooque was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm off break. He was born at Karachi, Sindh Province. Farooque made his debut in County Cricket for Staffordshire in the 1994 MCCA Knockout Trophy against Wales Minor Counties. He represented the county in 2 further Trophy matches, both against Cheshire in 1996 and 1997. He also represented Staffordshire in the Minor Counties Championship, making his debut in that competition for the county in 1995 against Buckinghamshire. From 1995 to 1996, he represented the county in 12 Championship matches, the last of which came against Hertfordshire. Farooque, later in 1999, represented the Warwickshire Cricket Board in a List A match against Berkshire in the 1999 NatWest Trophy.〔(Berkshire v Warwickshire Cricket Board, 1999 NatWest Trophy )〕 In 2000, Farooque joined Herefordshire. He made his Minor Counties Championship debut for the county against Dorset. His debut List A match for the county came against the Sussex Cricket Board in the 2000 NatWest Trophy.
